Watch for showers!

Baby showers

When I think of rain showers, I think sad, maybe depressing, but these baby shower invitation and announcement ideas will bring nothing but a smile!

How sweet are polka dots for a baby shower? Playing with fun colors and fonts are a great way to create a fun palate for your DIY baby card. Carry the colors over to the shower to complete your theme.

Handmade Wedding Invitation Ideas

I love the creativity and cost saving of making your own wedding invitations. The craft store (online and off), paper cutter, a computer and printer are all you need to create your own amazing invitations.

The following focus on tall and elegant invitation ideas. The great part about the tall invitations is that it is easy to fit all of your information, without having too much awkward white space. Best of all, you can use standard sizes of paper and envelopes. Standard size paper is much more affordable and using standard size envelopes can save you money on postage as well. This tall card style also works well for menus and wedding programs.

Leaf card

This wedding invitation uses a cutout card as a background. The black and cream are simple and elegant together. This tall card also comes with the leaf die cut, so it can be used on the text part of the invitation. A solid card can also be used behind the black card.

These black background cards and leaf are available at https://www.etsy.com/listing/177799115/elegant-tall-black-cards-with-leaf?ref=shop_home_active_1

Branch card

Using the black cards, there are some other cutout ideas. This has a branch/leaf cutout. You can see how it fits well in a standard envelope.

Swirl card

This version has a swirl cutout at the top.

A little love

Zoo Animal Baby Shower

My sister's recent baby shower was such a fun time. It gave me a chance to experiment with a few different craft projects.

Invitations

A simple card in a turquoise blue with a happy yellow giraffe. The white baby text jumps out on the bright color.

Decorations

Zoo animals added a fun touch to the décor. The yellow lion with polka dot mane was really cute. The chevron funny monkey gave everyone a friendly wave. My sister made the chocolate dipped pretzels with sprinkles. They were a hit!

Treats

The cake really came out well. We ordered extra plain cupcakes. I made the turquoise flags to go on top.

A little extra fun

Turquoise chevron moustaches were fun for everyone to get into the spirit of welcoming the little man!

Favors

I had been wanting to try chalkboard paint for a while. I made chalkboard clips with a magnet on the back using a thin wooden square attached to a wooden clothespin. Hot glue gun and craft paint were the only other tools necessary for this easy favor.
